Sherman to Lead Communications for Dow Jones

NEW YORK—Dow Jones & Company has appointed Bethany Sherman as chief communications officer. She will be responsible for all aspects of communications strategy for the global news and business information company, including public relations, media relations and internal communications.

Sherman will report to Dow Jones chief executive officer Les Hinton, who says: "The story of Dow Jones at the vanguard of the news business in the digital age is only beginning to be told. Bethany will play a key role in communicating our initiatives and successes as we invest in and improve core products such as The Wall Street Journal."

Sherman will join Dow Jones from The Nasdaq OMX Group, where she was senior vice president for corporate communications over the past eight years. At Nasdaq, she led the exchange's global communications and reputation management initiatives, including the OMX acquisition and other major events and programs. Before Nasdaq, Sherman was a principal and chief client services officer for Middleberg Euro RSCG.
